Big Step...For Me

As some of you know, I lost a very close dear niece when she was 3 years old. Her name was Alexis and she had cancer. Some great friends at the bank I was working at bought her this doll. I knew she wasn't going to be around much longer and I wanted to make sure I got to keep the cabbage patch kid, so I never actually gave it to her. I'm not sure if that was right or wrong, but it was important to me. I used to think I would just leave her in my closet in the box forever (where she has been for 5 years), but then I had Abigail. And slowly but surely I convinced myself that when she started asking about it, I would give it to her. Well, today was that day. I think I've almost cried like 10 times in the past hour, but she seems to really love her. Currently they are curled up in the chair watching Barney together. It's funny how something so small can bring back so many wonderful memories, but will also be used to create many more.

Beds, Barney & More

Eddy and I got a new king size bed a week or so ago. It's wonderful...and of course we had to have new bedding so we could actually sleep on it. I must admit is has taken me some getting used to. I mean, I'm used to sleeping next to Eddy...in this bed I feel like I'm sleeping alone cause it's huge. But I've adjusted and am loving being able to spread out more!

So, we now have an extra bed, which mom and dad are taking for their lake house, but the house isn't finished so we had to find a place to store it. We had it in the garage, but then only one car fit and that just wasn't working. So, we took the full size bed out of the guest room and put it in Abigail's room and put the queen bed in the guest room. It doesn't match and it's too big for the room, but it's not permanent. Abigail on the other hand was excited about having a real big girl bed. She helped pick out her new bedding, which matches pretty well considering the color of her walls. Eddy just wasn't up for repainting. Below is a pic of story time before bedtime. It's nice to be able to lay in the bed with her to read!

Last weekend we decided to take Abigail to see Barney. She loves the videos so I figured it was cheap enough to give it a try. She was really excited while waiting, but when he came out I don't think she had a clue what to think! It was pretty entertaining to watch her. She didn't act scared of him, but she didn't want to meet him up close for sure. Then, we were leaving and she got upset cause we were leaving Barney! So, all in all I think it was a sucess!

So, the next picture is just of my active little girl. She throughly enjoys running in circles in the living room, while saying, "I'm running, I'm running" over and over. It's the cutest thing ever, and she usually has drug Eddy and I into it with her before she's done!
