The Season of Giving Begins

We've had a really busy past 4 days. It all started with meeting santa on Saturday. Abigail didn't have any trouble at all running towards him, but she definitely stopped short. And although I got her to get very close, she was not going to sit in his lap...so, I sat beside him and she sat in my lap next to him to get our picture. Mom came in and got to experience this fun event with us.
That afternoon we went to Sprinkles and we saw santa again with his sleigh and a pony. They also had some big beautifully decorated trees, so it was a perfect picture moment.
Saturday night our friends Brent and Tim came over. We headed to Carino's for dinner, but not before Abigail got to open her gift. She got a fun doll that can name different parts of her face and a stroller to push her in. She LOVED them both. They do tend to spoil her rotten!
Monday after we got home, there was a big package outside the door. It was from Auntie Dee and Amo Fons...a nice, Abigail size, basketball goal! She was so excited. I was going to try to wait and wrap it, but once she realize what was on the box, she was working so hard to get it out...so I gave in, and we got it out. She shoots...she scores!

Monday night we met The Burks at PF Changs in Grapevine. We were there for 2 hours and it was amazing how well behaved Abigail was. Sometimes she is and sometimes she's not, but she was definitely on her best behavior. I think it helped that another little girl was there with her...and I didn't make her sit in a highchair. Eddy had an interesting moment in the bathroom while there. He took Abigail to change her diaper. He didn't realize she was poopy...and I failed to tell him. So, he laid her down on the changing table and instead of just opening the diaper, he just slings it off...poop balls everywhere!!! OMG! Bless his heart. I felt so bad for not telling him, but she stunk so I thought it would figured it out on the way...he didn't. Once we got home, Abigail opened her gift from Aubrey. Nothing like Elmo videos to make the day! She had to watch one immediately...so I let her, but just long enough to get her pajamas on!
Then tonight the Theauxs came over for dinner and for the girls to exchange gifts. Katie, the girls, and I went to Frisco first to do some shopping. Then back to the house for chili and cookies. What was amazing to me was how quickly those two small girls got toys all over the house. They were so cute together...talking, laughing, sharing, and playing. It's so nice to spend a relaxing evening at home with friends.

Tomorrow I have lunch with my commercial group at work, then I'm joining the retail group for dinner at Red Lobster...needless to say staying within a decent number of calories might not be possible!

Fun in Branson

This past weekend Abigail and I went to Branson with my parents. Eddy didn't have any days left to take off, so he had to stay here and work. Each year a group of families from the church I grew up in take a 4 day trip to Branson. It's really great to see everyone...most of them I've known since I was 9. We did lots of driving on Thursday and ate at a fabulous restaurant that night...great Italian food. Friday we did some shopping, rode the train and saw "Noah" the Musical. Abigail didn't do so great on the train...mainly because it was nap time, but she did fabulous during the musical. Of course with singing, dancing, and live animals I figure anyone would be happy! Saturday we did lots of shopping, but it was a great time to visit with old friends...and for our kids to play together. By 6:00 that night Abigail was totally worn out, so she didn't even get to go swimming with her new friends. But this gave mom and I a chance to have some time together. We were going to go to the Titanic museum, but they were closed...even though they said they sold their last ticket at 9, that was not the case. So we decided to drive through this 2.5 miles of lights. It cost 10.00 per person...and it was not very good...in fact, the one in Lindale is much better. And it took us at least an hour to get through it!! We got up and had breakfast Sunday at IHOP, then headed it out. It was a long day in the car, but we were safely home by 10:30. Needless to say I'm still trying to recoperate. And although lots of people think Branson is for older couples, I love it. I love the shows and the Ozarks and the weather! Hopefully next year we'll have as much fun...and Eddy has already taken the days off!

Our Thanksgiving

Happy Late Thanksgiving!

This year we went to the Water's house...Eddy's sister and her family. His Dad and Henrietta came up from Arkansas. We had a fabulous lunch, did lots of visiting, and played Bunco that night...it's tradition. And for once, Eddy won the highest prize...that's never happened to either of us...and we've been playing for 4 years!!

Barry, Jared, Bryan and I went to the Cowboys game that afternoon. It was my first pro game to go to, so I was super excited...and I learned lots of new things! The stadium is awesome, there are a ton of cheerleaders, and you basically have commercials...just to name a few. Our seats were great too...Thanks Chris and First Bank!! It really was totally awesome, and I'm hoping to visit the new stadium as well!

Abigail and I are off to Branson with my mom and dad on Thursday, so I'll let you know how it went next week! It's December!!!

Fever

Yesterday, Tammy (Abigail's sitter) called a little before 4 and said Abigail hadn't been acting like she normally does and she thought she had a fever. So, I go pick her and come home to find out it was 102.2. This is her first real fever (it had never hit 100 before), so I gave her some meds and called mom to make sure I had it all together. It was between 100 and 102 through most of the night, but she seems to be doing great today...crazy! And fever or not, she was still determined to play and try to have fun last night. Sweet little girl!

Tiny Dancer

This past Saturday Mom, Abigail, Katie, and I went to the Craft Bazzar at St. Ann's. We found these adorable tutus for such a great price! And Abigail loves hers! It's funny how she didn't want to wear her Tinkerbell costume, but she doesn't mind the crazy big tutu. Of course, it's much less constricting. My beautiful ballerina!

Halloween 2008

Take One...She HATED this costume. This was the second time we tried to get her to wear it and she just wasn't having it. Not sure why, but being Tinker Bell is obviously not who she wanted to be.
Take Two...LSU cheerleader! She seems to love her cheerleader outfit, so off we went to Trunk or Treat at FBC. She had so much fun, although sometimes she tried to give others her candy instead of getting some! We came home and let her go through all her candy, she chose a sucker and loved it. It was her first sucker and she was not excited when it was all gone. It was a great night!

Table for Eight

This weekend was one of the best I've had in a long time! A weekend of getting to enjoy what we used to take advantage of every week. It's always hard when such great friends move, but what a blessing that we have the internet!! Albuquerque (which I can finally spell without help) is beautiful...the mountains...amazing! And oh, the food...what a treat! Abigail had a blast with Emma, Noah, and Jonah...and us adults spent lots of time just relaxing. I can't wait for our next visit. We love you Bearden Bunch!!!!

20 Months

It's hard to believe how quickly your children grow up. It's hard to believe that in 4 months Abigail will be 2! Here are some highlights from the past month. Enjoy!!

She loves to feed her babies...she's such a little caretaker!

Cooking dinner with Mommy!

Chillin' on the couch....

Ready for the game...that LSU lost...

Playing on the lawn mower with cousin Hunter.

I found all the pumpkins!! We could never get her to look up at us!

My first Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich!!

Mamma Mia!

So, Sunday Night Katie and I rocked it at the House of Blues to Arrival, an ABBA tribute band...some of you may have already seen Katie's blog. It was so awesome! Even the excitement before the concert was great. Going to a concert at a place you've never been. The group was great, so entertaining. One of the original guitarist from the group was there preforming as well...super neat. We danced and sang the entire time...joined by some "dancing queens" as Katie quoted! It was a fabulous night that is totally a repeat next time they're in town! ABBA Rocks!!!!

Dallas Arboretum

We meet my mom and cousins, Jordan and Khary, at the Arboretum this past Saturday. I absolutely love the Arboretum. It brings back so many happy memories. It's always been a favorite of ours since we were dating, and we even had our wedding reception there. It was a little hotter than I would have liked and Abigail was super hard to get any pictures of, but all in all it was a great family day!

True April Form

So, being me, I've done the fool. Yesterday evening I was melting almond bark cause my husband wanted to cover some oreos with it...granted a great idea. It just had a funny smell to it...I don't know what...sort of like it was burning, but not. I tried to smell it in the pot, but it stunk, so I tried to smell it on the spoon. Couldn't tell you what it actually smelled like because I got it way too close...sort of like when you are smelling lotion and you get it on your nose and don't realize it...same concept, only this was HOT chocolate. Needless to say, as you can see, I burnt a layer of skin off. I'm definitely starting a new fashion! LOL!!

College Friends at the FW Zoo

It was a great weekend, a little hotter than I'd like, but good. Four of us girls from college and our families all got together and hung out. We spent about three and a half hours at the Fort Worth Zoo on Saturday...I don't know that I've ever been at the zoo that long, but it was really nice. Followed by open face tacos and a game of train at my house. Fabulous dominos game that gets more fun the more people that play! Church on Sunday, lunch at CPK, and now watching some football. The next two weekends we actually have no plans...yea for us!! Enjoy your week!

Pics of the new decor

Most of it's just fall decorations, but there are a few new items...

April is On-line!

Yep, I've done it. I've given in to all the pressure and joined the world of blogging. I'm sure it will take me a while to figure it all out, but how hard can it be, right? Currently we've updated our living room and put out all the Fall decor. I love this time of year. The warm colors, cooler weather, and preparation for lots of Christmas shopping!! I'm a firm believer in starting early. Eddy thinks we need a new Christmas tree this year...I on the other hand love the one we have. It's big and full, and he prefers small and skinny. Only time will tell who wins this! Well, off to see what else I can do on "My Blog!"
